The other two band members are keyboardist Eddie Cooper and drummer Sam Levin (Golestaneh plays guitar and sings), they are based out of Brooklyn, New York. I feel that they are a band that’s best experience live. I can only imagine: costumes, weird paintings, and flashing lights, all lending itself to an psychedelic art show.
The EP is mixed by Victor Van Vugt (of Nick Cave fame) & Paolo De Gregorio (of We Are Scientists fame) & mastered by Kramer (of Daniel Johnston fame).
My favorite song on the EP is an acoustic song, “Black Cat”, that perfectly ends the previously experimental/heavy percussion and guitar songs. Since the song might not really reflect the band’s sound, I’ve decided to represent them with “Radio”, which is my second favorite song here. All the elements are here in this song: keys, drums, some bass, and the banshee scream.
If you like what you’ve heard, please check out their myspace, or better yet, get the EP. They don’t have any details on how you can buy their EP, but it’s available via CD Baby. They are in the middle of recording their full length, but don’t be surprise that by 2009, Sea Sick, will be a regular name in the NME.
