Eyedea & Abilities was already on stage … I wasn’t that familiar with his music, but it seems everyone near the stage knew all the lyrics and they were singing along. So he certainly has his fans.

Eyedea at Bastille Day Block Party 2010 (07/18/10)

I recently found out the untimely passing of Eyedea, who was just twenty-eight years old when he died.
We don’t cover enough hip-hop, I saw him on stage about four months ago, at Bastille Day Block Party 2010. What I wrote was that everyone near the stage was singing along and they all knew the lyrics. I know he’ll be missed.
The news came from his mother, Kathy Averill, who created a memorial fundraiser for her son, Micheal Larsen, aka Eyedea.
It is with great pain and sadness that I tell you my son Mikey (Eyedea) has passed away.
