Anberlin: Vital

A few years ago, I had a fantastic time interviewing Stephen Christian of Anberlin. At that time (in 2008), we were making it a big deal that they landed on the cover of AP Magazine and they were generally blowing up all across the country.

Look where they are now: top 10 of Billboard 200 chart, being on Late Show, and playing with Smashing Pumpkins. It doesn't get any better for this band.

I have mentioned this before, but I would love to get singer Christian back on an interview, in particular to get him to talk about his love of British bands (The Smiths, The Cure), because I share the same deep love for those 80s bands.

Anberlin is currently on tour to promote their latest album, Vital (which drops today, October 16th). The record follows up to 2010's Dark is the Way, Light the Place, which claimed the #1 spot on Billboard's Christian Albums chart and #4 on both the Rock and Alternative charts.
