We saw Claire Rosinkranz in Feb 2023 and wrote, “An all-age show sold out for the Claire Rosinkranz show at the Fine Line; a frozen line of concert goers waiting to get into the venue as a mother left the warm comfort of her parked SUV to offer her coat to her daughter who was hopping and jumping to fight off hypothermia. Some parents kept a little closer, staking claim to the tables that ringed the second tier of the venue with easy access to the bar. It was a large crowd, an animated crowd, probably the most excitement I had seen for some time. The audience of mostly teenage girls even gave a roadie a round of applause, which caught him off guard, but then he leapt into the moment by taking a deep bow.”

Mdou Moctar is on a solo tour, stopping by the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on May 9, 2026.
The ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.

We saw Mdou Moctar in Oct 2024 and wrote, “Mdou Moctar next took the stage with fellow band members of Ahmoudou Madassane on rhythm guitar, Michael Coltun on bass and Souleymane Ibrahim on drums. Moctar is from Niger and his brand of music is Tuareg Rock aka Desert Blues, a sound that we have seen before in musicians like Bombino, the great Vieux Farka Touré and even Moctar at First Ave in Mar 2022. There is not much similarity with the blues coming out of the Mississippi Delta and the Saharan Desert. Moctar has been compared to Jimi Hendrix, but his guitar sounds more feral. There is a beat that runs through his songs, like the train rhythm created by Johnny Cash. But instead of a lonely engine plugging along in the middle of the night, Moctar’s is a runaway train going at full speed across an endless desert with no horizon in sight.”

Florida metalcore Wage War is headlining First Avenue, in Minneapolis, on May 9, 2026, in support of their upcoming EP It Calls Me By Name (out April 17 via Fearless Records).
The ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.

We saw Wage War in Sep 2024 and said, “Speaking of pathos, Wage War’s new album is also catching all the feels. “Stigma,” which was released June of this year, was described in reference to the movie Inside Out 2 which has a Minnesota connection. WeHeartMusic have been a fan of theirs in the past and this time around, the audience did stand up and listen. You could say they and we will always be magnetic; we hopefully will be able to pull them back every time.”
Nevertel and Orthodox to open.
