Opener Diana is another female led electro pop group with a classic 80's action movie soundtrack. You know motorcycle over the sunset romance comedy action? They opened and played a killer set from their debut record Perpetual Surrender, which came out August 20th on Jagjaguwar. I was dancing and felt like I was at a rad trippy dance disco party. I would classify some of their sounds as chillwave. I wasn't a fan of the slow mellow songs during their set like "Curtains" and "Perpetual Surrender", but all an all, I really like this band and hope to see them again soon!
Who knows Austra? Well you should know by now. She's a darker version of Florence and the Machine and she is touring all over the country. I was fortune to see her as she ran down about half the songs of her phenomenal sophomore release Olympia. I love "Annie" and "Hurt Me Now" (which she ended as an encore).
