Budstraps

BudStraps allow you to simply clip your earbuds around your neck for a run, ride, walk or simply to sit there, playing your Xbox (us too:). They wash quickly under warm water

I'm an avid cyclist, at least in the summer time. When I do long distance biking, I often use earbud headphones, but I always keep one ear out to listen for traffic. The unused earbud tend to be tucked in my shirt. Sometime it'll fall out and can cause major annoyance…. but NO MORE.

Introducing BudStraps. This is a new product that will ship in March 2015. If you've ever own an eyeglass strap, this works the same way – except that BudStraps have custom clips* to hold any earbuds headphones.

I spent a day with a prototype of BudStraps, and took it on walks and also showed off to some Better Than Ezra fans last night. They thought it was a great idea, especially when bringing up the headphones was done almost instantly. Imagine before this, there were so many steps to achieve the same thing: I had to fish out my earbuds, then straighten the cords, then put it in my ears. The untangling the cords is my biggest issue.

The strap is a lightweight neoprene (cloth-like) and I feel that it will soak up sweat. They have addressed this issue with a 'Sports' version, however for general use, the regular BudStraps should be fine for most people.

If you like the idea of BudStraps and think this will make a great gift for the music lover, then check out the Budstraps Kickstarter, which launched on Monday. Get in early and you get a discounted price and able to choose one of seven colors, including a limited sports strap and various other perks. Plus you get it before the product goes to retail.
