SHADOW IN THE CRACKS

They’re listing this show with I think local band Shadow in the Cracks (featuring members of The Blind Shake – incidentally is playing Pizza Luce today) as headliner.

I believe the actual show was actually booked for Summer Cannibals, a female-fronted punk-flecked four piece from Portland, Oregon. I’m pretty sure they got their name from a Patti Smith song. Anyway, we previously caught the band with Chvrches last year.
Summer Cannibals are on tour in support of their sophomore album Show Us Your Mind.

Also on the bill is Hollow Boys and Catbath. We previously caught the latter with Polyphonic Spree in 2014.

I think this duo Iamdynamite (Chris Martin – no not that Coldplay guy – and Chris Phillips), is great. There’s something really simple and uncomplicated about a guitarist and drummer sound.
We’ve previously seen them in Chicago in 2013 and Minneapolis in 2012.

The Detroit band is currently on tour in support of their sophomore album Wasa Tusa (Brando Records).

NICKI BLUHM & THE GAMBLERS

Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers is currently on touring support of Loved Wild Lost (Little Sur), the follow up album to their self-titled 2013 debut album.

“On the last record there’s a little bit of soul, a little bit of country, a little bit of rock,” Nicki says. “This record, we were trying to make it much more cohesive.”

Joining Bluhm on tour is her band The Gramblers, consisting of multi-instrumentalist, and Nicki’s husband, Tim Bluhm (The Mother Hips), guitarist Derek Ney, bassist Steve Adams, rhythm guitarist Dave Mulligan, and drummer Mike Curry.

Nashville singer/songwriter Andrew Combs to open the show. We previously saw Combs as opener and also as steel guitarist/electric guitarist for Caitlin Rose’s live band in 2013.
