Cavanaugh

Avant garde MC Open Mike Eagle teams up with Chicago comedy rapper legend Serengeti to create something creatively absurd and socially poignant.

Serengeti

I caught the last of Serengeti’s set and he was actually pretty humorous. I really loved the song, I later learned was, “Dennehy.”

Paul White

Hip-hop producer Paul White will be releasing his fourth album as a solo artist called Shaker Notes this September 30th on R&S Records.

Here are some shows taking place in the Minneapolis/St Paul area from February 21 to February 23, 2016.

Cavanaugh is the new rap group consisting of Open Mike Eagle and Serengeti. The band just released their debut album Time and Materials last November 2015 via Mello Music Group. The album features P.O.S… so expect the local Rhymesayer to randomly show up to rap (that is … if he isn’t touring at the moment)…

Although from Feb 18 to 20, they’re touring with Lizzo, she’s actually not playing 7th Street (Lizzo just recently sold out the First Ave show on Feb 6).

In Open Mike Eagle news, he recently teamed up with UK producer Paul White for Hella Personal Film Festival, a collection of songs that play like short films.

02/18 Chicago – Subterranean*

02/19 Madison – Majestic Theater*

02/20 – Milwaukee – Turner Hall Ballroom*
