ANDERSON EAST
Devil In Me Tour
at Varsity Theater
Tuesday, 02/23/16, 7pm ($12.50/$15)

varsitytheater.org

We caught Anderson East at the Chipotle Cultivate Festival (22 Aug 2015) and Varsity Theater (20 Oct 2015), and described singer Michael Anderson as “raspy voice echoed his Baptist upbringings”.

Anderson East recently previewed their song “Learning”, taken from the Southern Family (Low Country Sound/Elektra Records) compilation produced and conceived by Producer of the Year Grammy Nominee Dave Cobb.

Andrew Combs to open the show. We previously caught him with Caitlin Rose at Triple Rock Social Club (08 Apr 2013).
Combs’ latest All These Dreams was released to overwhelming acclaim on Coin Records/Thirty Tigers. NPR Music’s Ann Powers praises, “The arrangements on All These Dreams have a retro quality, evoking 1970s Laurel Canyon and 1980s Austin as well as 1960s Music Row. With the singer’s sagebrush-rough but always carefully calibrated vocals at the center, the album works on one level as a history of the troubadour figure from the classic-rock era onward, with Combs as charming antihero…”
