Catskills-based singer/songwriter Hannah Cohen has released “Golden Chain”, the first new music since her 2025 album Earthstar Mountain (Congrats Records / Bella Union).

We saw Hannah Cohen in July 2019 and said, “New York singer-songwriter Hannah Cohen opened the show. Cohen said this wasn’t her first time in the Minneapolis area, however this was the first time that she got to play her own music. This suggest that she was part of another band or touring session musician. She didn’t volunteer what band or who she played for, but she did mentioned that she ate a lot of tacos prior to going on stage. As you can see from her setlist, all the songs were taken from her Welcome Home album, which came out April 26, via Bella Union. Due to some error, she actually didn’t have the new album with her on tour. In reading about the new record, it was produced by Sam Evian, who we saw with Teenage Fanclub in October 2016. Since the two of them know each other well, I suspect Cohen may have toured as part of Evian’s band. The soft-spoken singer actually finished her set a little early. Then realizing she had a few more minutes, she closed out her set with “Return Room” (which was not written on her original setlist).”

Comets + Gold by Elmiene and Fujii Kaze (2026)
Elmiene
British-Sudanese songwriter and vocalist Elmiene recently collaborated with Japanese singer / songwriter Fujii Kaze for their new song “Comets + Gold” – out now on Def Jam Recordings / Polydor. The two previously worked together for “Someday”, when Elmiene travelled to Japan and visited the native singer-songwriter.
Elmiene adds:
It was so easy working with Kaze for many reasons but to me, it was how special his understanding of how music moves through the chords and harmonies that really impressed me. He is incredible at adding the perfect colours to music that bring so much depth and emotion in a song. Our music galaxy has so many more stars through him.

The last time we mentioned Ethan Gold was in June 2020, when we mentioned his album Songs From a Toxic Apartment (Gold Records). Now his new album Earth City 2: Nightfolk is out now… his second album in his so-named Earth City trilogy.
Gold described the first album as “more of a lonely experience”, while the second is his “nightlife record.”

● Voice Over Gold is a collaborative underground hip-hop album by Canadian lyricist Es (from Mississauga, Canada) and Greece-based producer/sound scientist Nec Nymbl. The LP fuses raw 90s-style boom-bap beats with modern, forward-thinking production, delivering conscious, socially aware lyrics alongside jazz, soul, and experimental elements.
● Gold Train is the new single from WeatheredMan and The Noise, taken from their album Still Economy.
● Gold is the new EDM single from Vendetta. Their press release was in a tiny image, which was too hard to read. Can you please send it in plain text next time?
● Gold Rush is the single from punk band Plz Respond. The song was written by frontman and drummer Galen Crampsey, is about work safety.
● Rum.Gold released Disc 1 of Is There Anybody Home? (Independent Co.) The project was introduced in reverse: Disc 2 arrived first… so basically Disc 1 is the new release from the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter.
● Goldie released The Rufige Files – a new feature-length documentary delving into the history, sound and ethos behind his seminal Rufige Kru moniker… told through the perspective of the UK drummer and bassist.
● Paint Me In Gold is the forthcoming song from Silver Man (aka David Silverman). The single comes out July 17, 2026, via 3 Bar Fire Records (that sounds like a bad Smiths reference: “Poor old man. He had an accident with a three-bar fire, but that’s okay. He wasn’t very happy anyway”).
