Award-winning country and bluegrass group The Kody Norris Show released their first-ever instrumental track, “Declaration of Independence,” in celebration of the America 250 milestone.
Songwriter Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris adds:
‘Declaration of Independence’ came about several years back after trying to write an instrumental in the key of B. Like many bluegrass bands, we play a lot in that key and often need an instrumental to break things up. We were in Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, on the 4th of July weekend in 2023, without thinking, went straight into the instrumental, the band followed, and we named it on the spot, ‘Declaration of Independence.’

Songs for the Heavy Hearted by Chris Pierce

Songs for the Heavy Hearted by Chris Pierce (August 21, 2026)
Chris Pierce
chrispierce.com
Los Angeles singer/songwriter Chris Pierce recently shared his new single “Madonna of the San Joaquin”, which spotlight on immigrants in America. The song comes from his forthcoming album Songs for the Heavy Hearted (available August 21).
Pierce on the new single
We should celebrate the diversity of our country; not instill fear in the people whose labor helps sustain our communities while they seek a better future for their families. ‘Madonna of the San Joaquin’ is a direct challenge to the hypocrisy of those who invoke scripture and morality while turning their backs on the vulnerable, and even participating in their mistreatment.

Sometimes, we’re going to get beaten and broken, but, even if you fire, arrest or threaten to imprison us, we’re going to pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off and start again the next day. I’m still going to be out there moving forward with my voice, harmonicas and guitar in hand.

There’s buffalo creeks in my blood till I die

Happy 4th by Grand Agent

Happy 4th by Grand Agent (July 3, 2026)
Philadelphia’s Grand Agent is the stagename for community leader, and Philly Truce co-founder, Mazzie Casher. And he is celebrating America’s 250th Birthday by asking people across the nation to “Thank a Black Person Today”.
Casher explains:
We can’t invite the world to the birthplace of America for its 250th birthday and forget to thank the people who helped build it and continue to make it magical. That’s what ‘Thank a Black Person Today’ is all about. Before the nonprofit work, before the advocacy, before the organizing, there was music. As America approaches 250 years, I wanted to contribute to the conversation in the language I’ve been speaking my entire life.
The new Grand Agent single, “Happy 4th,” is Casher’s contribution to the national conversation about what it means to celebrate Independence Day.
“Happy 4th” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms .

Ryan Hamilton

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Ryan Hamilton (not to be confused with the comedian) just released his new album Haunted By American Dreams on Wicked Cool Records. The album blending heartland rock, power pop, and deeply personal storytelling.
Hamilton adds some insights:
‘Haunted By American Dreams’ is really about chasing something you were told would save you—and realizing it doesn’t. It’s the echo of small-town promises, late-night highways, and all the ghosts of who you thought you’d become. I didn’t want to make a perfect record—I wanted to make an honest one, even if it rattles a little.
Haunted By American Dreams is available on all digital platforms, via Wicked Cool Records.
