After listening to The Shondes’ album The Red Sea, I thought they sounded a little like Sleater-Kinney (as mentioned in 2008). I actually really like the record… and if you’re a Minneapolis riot grr fan, you should check out this upcoming Kitty Cat Klub show next Wednesday, September 7th, for free.
Locals Strange Relations to open and Catbath to close.
The Shondes’ upcoming Brighton will be out September 16th on Exotic Fever Records. Frontwoman Louisa Solomon mentioned that the record is really a collection of “love songs”.

Neil Michael Hagerty and The Howling Hex will be playing the Turf Club in St Paul next Wednesday.
If you didn’t know, Hagerty is probably best known for his work in Royal Trux… but since their breakup in 2001, Hagerty has released several solo album as The Howling Hex. He’s also known for being in Pussy Galore.
Neil Michael Hagerty and The Howling Hex’s latest is a limited-edition 7″ single, set for release on September 16th. The cover is actually painted by Neil himself.
