Mogwai is returning to First Avenue on April 13th. We last saw the band in May 2014 and wrote, “And when I wasn’t rendered completely helpless by the sheer majesty of Mogwai’s epic soundscape, I was jolted back to reality with a sharp reminder that this band isn’t here to lull. Fan-favorite “Mogwai Fear Satan,” a juggernaut of a song from the band’s debut, rollercoasters from soft to blisteringly loud. Midway through, it diminishes to a near hush and then explodes into a swirl of drums, bass and guitar. This is the kind of music that you hear as you are falling to the ground after jumping off the ledge of a skyscraper.”

Mogwai’s new album As The Love Continues is out now.

Indie-rock quartet Peach Pit is currently on tour for their third studio album From 2 to 3. In addition to the new songs, the band also promised to play some of fan’s favorites from You and Your Friends and Being So Normal.

Haley Blais to open. Haley recently released her new single, “Coolest f*cking b*tch in town”. She explained the song, “I’ve never been the ‘coolest f*cking b*tch in town’ but I’ve told myself I was. It’s this pathetically triumphant paradox, no one can really crown themselves the coolest. But at the times you’re the most pitifully lonely you have these flashes of being the most pitifully cocky, where you have to hide your pain from yourself by rocking out, looking yourself in the eye and convincing yourself you’re a high roller, you’re the homecoming queen, you’re the coolest b*tch alive. What a sad prize! But you can make it feel like a prize if you lie hard enough. People are scared of being uncool… it’s a very honest naked moment. I once heard “the only true currency there is in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool.” I wanted to make a song that was a big victorious lie. This song’s about that last death rattle right before that honest moment, one last gasp of air, one last push to be the coolest f*cking b*tch in town before it all falls apart.”
