England folk now-duo, The Staves (sisters Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor), headlined the Varsity Theater, in Minneapolis, on April 16. The sisters’ new album All Now is out now on Communion Records.

According to Brody, the “killer show was packed.” Members of Bear’s Den was their backup band. During the show, the drummer got engaged.

The Staves/Bear’s Den crossover shouldn’t surprise fans, as the two were touring together a few years ago, and during Bear’s Den show in Jan 2017, “Returning to the stage, [guitarist Andrew] Davie explained their custom of doing a cover of a song of local significance on every stop of this tour, then brought out UK sisterly trio, The Staves (recent transplants now living in the metro) out help to sing harmonies on Prince’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ (though done more in the Sinead O’ Connor style). The groups were very familiar with each other from their Austin to Boston tour a few years ago, involving five VW camper vans, which was subsequently turned into a documentary film.”
