Nina Luna
with anni xo, Harlow and Emily Rhea
at 7th St Entry

first-avenue.com

Local singer Nina Luna will be having an EP release show for Hermit Heretic, at the 7th Street Entry on February 26, 2025.

anni xo (they/them), Harlow and Emily Rhea to open.

We saw anni xo in Aug 2024 and said, “With their laidback sound and easy voice, Anni XO had quite a fervent group of children dancing in front of the stage. I think going to parks for kids is the equivalent of Daytona Beach for college students, meaning riotous fun. One girl tried to climb on stage, and a father had to be fast on his feet when his son darted up the stairs to join the band.”

We saw Harlow in July 2021 and said, “Starting off this Radio K sponsored show, was local band Harlow. The five-piece is really new, only releasing their single “Yesterday Is Gone” in July 2021… which the band happily played near the end of their set. Other songs on their set included, “Too Many Sides (of the Same Coin)” and a song about something like “Rainbow Trout” (a “fake country song”).”

Nina Luna writes:

MISSIO
with Layto
at Amsterdam Bar & Hall

first-avenue.com

Following their most recent tour with Badflower, Texas duo MISSIO announced their I Am Cinco North America headline tour in support of their new album.

“It’s been a while since we’ve headlined North America. We can’t wait to get back to the fans who make all of this a reality for us by how much they support and stream the music. See y’all in 2025,” exclaims MISSIO.

We caught Missio on the recent tour with Badflower in Sep 2024 and wrote, “Texas duo Missio (Matthew Brue and David Butler) was next. The band recently teamed up with Limp Bizkit’s Wes Borland on their single “Good Vibrations”, which was used as the set finale. They love the song, and even “freaked out”, when they learned that Borland wanted to work with them. Frontman Matthew Brue adds, “He’s been a huge influence for us both growing up. After hearing his additions to the song, we sat back, and it felt surreal realizing that we got the opportunity to collaborate with someone as legendary as him. He took the song to a slightly darker place, and we instantly resonated.” The single-person band officially formed in 2014, but Matthew Brue didn’t adopt the Missio (the Latin word for “mission”) name until 2016 when he played at SXSW, with the help of David Butler. Since then, Brue asked Butler to join Missio. ”

Layto to open.
