Alan Sparhawk & Mount Eerie
at First Avenue

first-avenue.com

Alan Sparhawk (of Low) and Mount Eerie are co-headlining this First Avenue show on April 10th, 2025.

We saw Alan Sparhawk in June 2023, we mentioned, “Opening the show was Alan Sparhawk (of Low). The most interesting thing is that he’s joined on stage with Shahzad Ismaily, from Marc Ribot’s Ceramic Dog, playing percussion instruments and keys, whatever the songs may need.  We haven’t heard from Sparkhawk since his appearance with Yo La Tengo in March 2023, writing, “During “I Heard You Looking” Alan Sparhawk from Low nonchalantly stepped onto the stage and manned the keyboard to join in on the jam session that had Kaplan switching between three guitars. It was by far their longest and best song of the evening.””

Mount Eerie (aka jPhil Elverum) is touring in support of Night Palace, the first new album under the name Mount Eerie in five years, via his own P.W. Elverum & Sun label.

The Weather Station
at Turf Club

first-avenue.com

The Weather Station is currently on tour, in support of their new album Humanhood (Fat Possum). The tour will stop in at the Turf Club, in St Paul, on April 11, 2025.

It’s been a long time since we saw her, in March 2016: “Opening up the show was fellow Canadians The Weather Station. Currently the live band was a trio, featuring singer/guitarist Tamara Lindeman and with help from drummer Matt (?) and guitarist Evan. All three band members would later resurface for Bulat’s backing band during her main set. The Weather Station’s set featured a lot of new songs from her latest Loyalty album, including “Way It Is, Way It Could Be”, which did not feature any percussions. Lindeman, who sounded like Joni Mitchell, described the song as a “quieter song… as if it could get any quieter.” That’s actually a pretty good description of the band, they’re a quiet, acoustic, and gentle.”

Linda Lindas at Fine Line (12 April 2025)

12 Apr 2025 Saturday
The Linda Lindas
with Pinkshift
at Fine Line

first-avenue.com

The Linda Lindas is finally doing a proper headlining tour. We previously seen them open for Japanese Breakfast and Green Day… but we’re really happy to see that they’re finally striking it on their own with a proper tour in support of their album No Obligation, available now on Epitaph.

We saw the Linda Lindas in Aug 2024 and wrote, “This was the first time I have seen The Linda Lindas headline a show, and they only sold it out at the door. I have seen them open for The Breeders and Jawbreaker. Both shows in April of 2022. The band, comprised of Bella (singing, guitar, 19), Eloise (singing, bass, 16), Lucia (singing, guitar, 17) and sister her Mila (drums, singing, 14) have really matured in the last two years, in terms of their playing, stage presence, and between song banter.”

Pinkshift to open.
