Arcade1Up is a computer hardware production company that specializes in the production of working 3/4 scale arcade cabinets that play arcade video games using modern components and emulation. Arcade1Up was established as a subsidiary of Tastemakers, Inc. in 2018 by its CEO Scott Bachrach. In June 2017, Bachrach had been involved in a meeting discussing the growing interest in retrogaming.

Weekend Gamer: Update (May 2025)

As for the gaming, I finally got around to putting together my Galaga Arcade1Up. I’ve had this thing in the original box for more than a year, because I knew eventually, I had to move to Jacksonville, and it was just easier to leave things in its compact state. When I put it together, I soon realized I did not bring my Pac-Man and Street Fighter II console controllers… so instead of putting the Galaga side art, I prefer the bright yellowness of the Pac-Man side.

Weekend Gamer: Go! Go! Zo!

With CES (Consumer Electronics Show) coming up on January 7, I am hearing all these rumors about what to expect in the popular computer handheld market: Lenovo Legion Go S (two variants), Legion Go 2, Atari Gamestation Go, Zotac Zone 2. If true (or false), I will update this article with additional details after January 7.

Arcade1Up: Asteroids

So, I accidentally bought my second Arcade1Up, an Atari's Asteroids machine. Of all the cabinets that Arcade1Up released, this was my least desirable. I recognized that these games are important, but these games (Asteroids, Major Havoc, Lunar Lander, and Tempest) were just really way before my time. In fact, when I was going to the arcades, I never saw these (and if they were there, I never played them).
