I have to say, I’m really digging the concept behind Eternal Descent.
The 12 track album is done in a three acts (groups of 4 tracks per act)
and tries to recreate a storyline. Their basis is in visual comic book
(the art looks very anime) and according to the press release the
cartoon characters, in some small way, represent the singer Elysha
(Lyra, the demon) and guitarist Llexi (Sirian, the angel).
The whole
album can only be describe as some sort of gothic rock opera. I can
totally visualize their concert to have live actors playing and singing
their parts as the cityscape goes from a wonderful metropolis to
skeletal frame of a city.
Music and comic art (the artist used on their album is Ben Krefta)
is not the only thing that this band is working on, apparently an
animated feature of “Into the Darkness” is coming soon. You can see a sneak peak here.
The song tells the story about Lyra’s fall into darkness, hence the
title of the song. You can also download the song for free on their myspace.
Eternal Descent’s album is called Losing Faith and was released last year. You can buy their CD at CD Baby.
