PET SHOP BOYS
petshopboys.co.uk

We love Pet Shop Boys. We are closely following the status of their 12th studio album called Electric, which is coming out July 15, 2013, on x2 Records (via Kobalt Label Services).

Pet Shop Boys confirmed that the new record is a return to a more dance-oriented record, saying, “‘Electric’ is very much set on the dance floor. Our latest album often evolves as a response to our previous album and, whereas ‘Elysium’ had a reflective mood, ‘Electric’ is pretty banging! And working with Stuart Price on a studio album is something we have wanted to do for a very long time”.

In typical PSB fashion, they have recently released a Boys Noize Remix of their single “Axis”. The song can be heard exclusively on mixmag.net.

Pet Shop Boys will also be heading out on tour in support of Electric. Unfortunately, no Minneapolis date is listed at the moment. You’ll have to trek out to Chicago if you want to see them this year.

CSS (CANSEI DE SER SEXY)

Brazil’s CSS (although I believe the ladies are all now resides in Los Angeles for the moment) just announced their summer tour. The show should be a fun dance party, especially if they are going to be playing songs like “Hangover” off their new album Planta (coming out June 11, 2013, via SQE Music), along with their classic hits such as “Off the Hook” and “Music Is My Hot Hot Sex”.

Also, I noticed that IO Echo is listed as support act, which I am looking forward to seeing them again since their Minneapolis appearance with Garbage.

SUB FOCUS

Sub Focus, aka Nick Douwma, is one of the hottest electronic musicians in the UK electronic music scene. He’s already been confirmed as one of the headlining slots for Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Reading, and Leeds. If that’s not an indication of Sub Focus’ rise to popularity, how about his last single, “Tidal Wave” sold over 150,000 copies and landed on the UK charts at #12?

With that introduction out of the way, his latest single is called Endorphins, which came out May 12, 2013 on Casablanca / Republic Records. The song features BRIT Award’s nominee Alex Clare.
