Triple Rock at the Triple Rock: Austra, Baths, and Savages

You remember Austra, I previously mentioned that they were from Toronto and that Tasseomancy were part of Austra's touring band.

Well here's an update: Austra is back with Olympia, coming out June 18th on Domino Records (available via Paper Bag in Canada).

Principal songwriter/vocalist Katie Stelmanis talk about the band's music, "We are really into dense harmonies and big beautiful melodies, but I also love techno and dance music. I wanted to bring those elements together."

Opening up for Austra for August and September will be Diana, who we saw as opener for Tegan & Sara.

Baths is the stage name of Will Wiesenfeld, with his new album, Obsidian (the vinyl is coming out June 18, 2013, on Anticon Records).

The Californian is currently on tour in support of the new album; he's stopping in Minneapolis tomorrow night at the Triple Rock Social Club.

Exciting news for the all-girl British post-punk band, Savages: they are appearing on Jimmy Fallon tonight on NBC.

Savages will be performing "She Will", off of their debut LP Silence Yourself, out now via Matador/Pop Noire…. and guess what? They are heading out on tour this July in support of the new album.
