The Nashville darlings will be releasing their third studio album Blur the Line this Tuesday, October 1st on Oh Wow Dang.

Here are some excerpts of Jessi’s answers:

1. Can you tell us the secret origin of the band name “Those Darlins”?
Nikki was on softball team called ‘Little Darlings’, and we took from that and changed it to Those Darlins… a specific type of ‘darlings’.

2. “Funstix Party” is one of your first song you guys wrote, why didn’t it make it on the debut album?
It’s actually not technically a Darlins song. Me and Linwood, our drummer, had a band before he was actually in our band, called Funstix. And that was the theme song for the band.

3. Kelley left the band in 2012, what can you tell us about your new bassist Adrian?
Adrian is really, really funny. He keeps it hilarious all the time… We met his parents and I like his parents, too, so I think he’s a winner!

4. Blur the Line is your third record, was there a controversy with the cover artwork?
Typical Southern Bible Belt reaction…

5. Your new single is “In the Wilderness”, can you talk to us about this song?
It’s actually a song that Nikki wrote. It’s about our instincts and just the fact that we’re all animals… a lot of things, it’s better if she explains it.
