What’s all that noise coming from Canada? It’s something loud and heavy and much more fun than Bieber-bashing. It’s the Pack A.D.! The hard-rocking duo from Vancouver just released their fifth full length album Do Not Engage in January on Nettwerk Records and are slated to turn North America into their own personal moshpit.
Driven by the primal bombast of Maya Miller’s drums and the raw-nerve howl of vocalist/guitarist Becky Black, The Pack A.D. have been racking up accolades in Canada since their 2008 debut Tintype.
I was lucky enough to catch their set at the Satellite last friday night in Los Angeles and it was a wonderful much needed jolt to my winter-ravaged senses. Rock is as essential a vitamin to your soul as the vitamin D-filled sun is to your epidermis, you know? Visit your friendly local dispensary, the Turf Club in St. Paul, on March 5th to receive your recommended dose by the Pack A.D. In the meantime, stream their first punchy single “Big Shot” on their website.
