Christmas 2014:
- Band Aid 30 recorded the new 2014 version of “Do They Know It’s Christmas” to fight Ebola.
- The Godfather of Soul, James Brown‘s “Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto” from the holiday album A Soulful Christmas (1968).
- They Might Be Giants‘ “Santa’s Beard”, a song about a cheating wife with Santa Clause from Lincoln (1988), but later collected on EP Holidayland in 2001.
- Run D.M.C.‘s “Christmas in Hollis” single from the compilation album A Very Special Christmas (1987)
- The samples from “Christmas in Hollis” was taken from Clarence Carter‘s “Back Door Santa”, the song was taken from the compilation album Soul Christmas (1968).
BONUS:
- She Wants Revenge is a darkwave band.
- Placebo‘s Brian Molko got compared to Suede‘s Richard Oaks.
- Cristina’s new favorite band is Turkey’s She Past Away (should that be ‘she passed away’?). The band’s only album is 2012’s Belirdi Gece.
