When we saw Liz Phair earlier in June 2018, the number one complaint we had was that it felt stripped down, especially without a drummer (even some “jackass” in the audience yelled, “You need a drummer, Liz!” at the show).
All that will be addressed in this upcoming “Amps on the Lawn” long sold out show at First Avenue.

Speedy Ortiz to open. We last saw them in May 2015 and wrote, “Speedy Ortiz’s hour-long set was interesting. First of all, the band doesn’t do encores; they just play an extra two songs and then immediately head over to the merch table. Like many independent bands, they make most of their money playing these shows and selling directly to fans.”
