Nashville-based singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins is back! She’ll be headlining the Turf Club, in St Paul, on November 17, 2026, in support of Drama (her first new album in six years).
We last saw Atkins when she was billed as Nicole Atkins & The Sea in October 2007 (nearly 20 years ago): “Nicole Atkins & The Sea, from New Jersey, played their last show with The Raveonettes in Minneapolis. They’re heading to play on Late Night with David Letterman on October 30th (the same date as her Neptune City CD release), so you can what kind of understand her commercial appeal she has. People who also like Feist and A Fine Frenzy will probably really like Atkins. The song that she’ll play on Letterman is “The Way It Is”, but I wasn’t that impressed with it hearing it live, so I’m putting up “Party’s Over” which I liked a little better. They had to cut their set short by two songs, so “Love Surreal” and “Crystal Ship” was not played. I was disappointed because I wanted to hear the Doors cover song.”
John Gallagher Jr. (no relation to Noel or Liam) to open.

You guys already know I’m a big Twin Peaks fan. The murder-mystery show by visionary David Lynch took the world by storm in 1990, and gave us such colorful (and weird) characters as Agent Cooper and the Log Lady. It’s been over 35 years, and some of the cast have gotten together to share their stories with working on the show: Sheryl Lee, Ray Wise, Michael Horse, Sabrina S. Sutherland, and Josh Eisenstadt.
We honor those who passed away, particularly David Lynch in 2025, Angelo Badalamenti in 2022, and Julee Cruise in 2022. The haunting music of Twin Peaks was the first cassette that I’ve ever bought. It still stays with me… in dreams, I walk with you..

Slow Pulp is back in Minnesota, this time headlining First Avenue, in Minneapolis, on November 20, 2026. The band previously played First Ave, but as support act for Alvvays in 2022.

We Slow Pulp in June 2024 and said: “Called “one of 2023’s best rock records” by Variety, Slow Pulp are continuing their international tour in support of their breakout album Yard. We were meant to have seen them last October 5, but unfortunately, due to prior commitments, could not cover their show. Hopefully, this Italian re-post will make up for missing them in Minneapolis. Concollato writes that singer Emily Massey was surprised at the enthusiastic, if not rough, fanbase, when they started singing the first two songs, “Idaho” and “At It Again” (from their 2020 Moveys album). Their final song, “At Home” was described as “very soft”, but then exploded, closing out of an exciting evening and ultimately puts the band as one of the best indie-rock bands of the ‘20s.”
Her New Knife to open.

If your band is coming to the Minneapolis/St Paul area, please email details to vu@weheartmusic.com with a good lead time. Thank you.
