Jamie xx
with Numero Group DJs
at Armory
first-avenue.com
Jamie xx, the English musician, DJ, record producer, and remixer, from The xx, is headlining the Armory, in Minneapolis, this Saturday, January 18.
As a solo artist, he’s been recognized with a Mercury Prize nomination, and a Grammy nomination. His second album In Waves via Young.
We saw the xx in Oct 2012 and wrote, “The xx show was a little somber, with flashing lights at the appropriate beats. I was expecting more dancing from the audience, but for the most part, they kept very still. Which is cool, as someone pointed out that it was nice to see people actually listening and watching the show on stage. I was expecting xx to do more songs from their latest album, Coexist, but if you look over their setlist, less than half (38%) were from the new album. The rest were made up from their debut album.”
Numero Group DJs to open.
