We♥KC! October 14-16, 2025 Upcoming concerts / shows (Kansas City, MO / Lawrence, KS metro)

We spoke of Rush reuniting and playing shows next summer in our last installment, but little did we realize that singer/bassist Geddy Lee made a Saturday stop in KC to promote his new baseball book at the Negro Leagues Museum. Attendance was crowded, but Lee was nice in signing and posing for pics, from all reports.
Not sure why Rush didn’t book The Sphere in Las Vegas so the fans could come to them and they could take more advantage of the visuals, but No Doubt will play six shows (likely more, if demand is there) next May, at the world’s most expensive venue.
Of course, Taylor is back in town to catch the Chiefs/Lions game, in-between all the promo for her record-setting new album, and we send our sympathies to the family of John Lodge of The Moody Blues, who passed away suddenly earlier in the week- “I know you’re out there somewhere.”
Let’s take look at the Kansas City / Lawrence KS metro musical happenings for the Weeknights of October 14th, 15th, 16th.

Guitarist Jake Brooks notes: “Strawberry” started as a jam between Ali [Genevich, vocalist] on bass and me on guitar. We sent it to Joe [Taurone, drums] and he completely expanded it into this sick drum part. Playing unfinished music live helped us discover what made the songs tick. It was an integral part of shaping the entire record.”
