MT-based Americana alt/bluegrass band Kitchen Dwellers will be headlining the Fine Line in Minneapolis on November 23rd, 2025.

Them Coulee Boys at First Ave (Dec 2, 2023)
Them Coulee Boys to open. We saw the band in March 2023 and wrote, “ It was their third time on the First Avenue stage and Beau Janke set aside his electric banjo to say being on there was not lost on him. “We’ve been down there hoping to be up here.” They made the most of it with an electrified, rollicking good time with Janke joined by Soren Staff on guitar, Jens Staff on mandolin, Neil Krause on bass and Staš Hable on drums. Their music is infused by Americana but most definitely amped up and electrified, especially during the crowd favorite “10ft. Tall.” You have to wonder how a traditional form of music that has roots in the southeastern part of the country found a prominent foothold in the Twin Cities. I read more than one article that says the impetus may have come from the Grammy award-winning soundtrack to the movie “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?” Which is funny considering the movie was written and directed by two brothers from St. Louis Park, MN, Joel and Ethan Coen, neither who probably ever picked up a fiddle or banjo.”

Thanksgiving (Nov 27, 2025)
November 27, 2025 Thursday
Thanksgiving
at United States of America
thanksgiving.com
It’s Thanksgiving national holiday, so generally things are slow around this time of the year. In the United States, it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.
Traditional Thanksgiving dinner features a turkey as the centerpiece, with potatoes (usually mashed and sweet), squash, corn, green beans, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. In later years, wild rice and macaroni and cheese have become a serving staple.
Oddly enough Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated in Canada, Saint Lucia, Liberia, and unofficially in countries like Brazil and Germany. It is also observed in the Australian territory of Norfolk Island.

at First Avenue

Indie/rock darlings The Happy Fits is headlining First Avenue, in Minneapolis, on November 28, 2025, in support of their new album Lovesick (their first full-length album in over three years).

The Happy Fits at the Granada Theater (Oct 15, 2023)
We saw Happy Fits in Oct 2023 and wrote, “Amidst some low-lit, retro-style LED lights, Pittstown NJ band The Happy Fits (started in 2016 as high school students and led by lead vocalist / cellist Calvin Langman) took to the stage, in support of their newest album, just released in late August. Unfortunately, core members Ross Monteith and Luke Davis are not present on this tour, due to mental health and other unannounced issues, but Langman has bravely decided to carry on.”
