First Avenue is a legendary, independent music venue in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, famous for its role in Prince’s film Purple Rain and for its iconic exterior wall painted with stars recognizing performers. For UK electronic artist James Blake, less is always more. The 25-year old, in promotion for his second and latest full-length, Overgrown (Republic Records) has never felt the need to over-embellish his works or fill in un-necessary notes in the spaces in-between; and in a very sold-out 100 min. performance at Minneapolis’ First Avenue, we saw why he was this year’s recent winner of the coveted Mercury Music Prize.

It's the year 3030… we came back. And yes, we came back to Deltron 3030, thirteen years later! Deltron 3030, the supergroup of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Dan the Automator, and Kid Koala, is currently on tour from the year 3030, stopping by Minneapolis to their sold-out show at First Avenue last night.
