Your 33 Black Angels
I got a note that Your 33 Black Angels are heading out on tour, so I thought I’d finally mention them here.
Your 33 Black Angels are kind of an alt-rock band, from New York. They released their debut album, Lonely Street last March, available in regular CD as well as a limited edition vinyl.
From their album, I instantly liked “Psycho On Your Side”, which sounds like a good 90s song (I can’t quite place my finger on it, but it sounds so familiar!)
Anyway, it has the unintentionally funny lyrics of:
She could’ve had the good life
But instead she went with me
I also liked “Me and My Girl”, which features a woman back up singer. I tried looking through their liner notes to see if I could see who sang backup, but the only women name I could see are Ali LeFevre and Kristine Virsis (who did drew their album artwork).
Since they self-described their songs as about “cold merciless women”, I guess it depends on who you ask… “Sue” looks like it’s a likely candidate for their cold women theme (but I don’t see it :/)
It does try to rhyme “Sue” and “do” though.
Their press release didn’t mention the actual tour dates, so I’ve added it here and to my press page:
