This band reminds me of gypsy folk music with lots of usage of the fiddle and banjo. The singer, Greg Jamie, has a very mountain man/country twang to his voice. Some of the lyrics on this album do not mean anything (like “aaah hhaaa” or “la da la la la”), but they sound good in the song.
So, the story behind this album’s dedication (“for Eliza”) is that she’s drummer David Rogers-Berry’s fiance. She died of an aneurysm late last year – causing the band to understandably cancel their European tour plans. Her death brought the band closer together and it may have influenced their songs.

My favorite song off this album is “Fire on Peshtigo”. It has that gypsy element that I mentioned earlier and I think the most interesting thing about this song is that it’s actually based on a true event from a destructive fire in Peshtigo, Wisconsin in 1871. This song sounds great and I think it will be a crowd pleaser at a live show.
Speaking of which, they are on tour, covering Canada, the East Coast, and the Mid-West.
