The Hunts

Sibling band The Hunts release their debut album, entitled Those Younger Days, today via Cherrytree Records/Interscope. The Hunts wrote all of the songs on the album

The Hunts is a musical family, consisting of five brothers (Josh, Jonathan, Jordan, Justin, and Jamison), and twin sisters (Jenni and Jessi). As you can see and hear, they've been performing music their entire lives. After years of covering and writing original songs, they've signed a deal with Cherrytree Records/Interscope in December 2014, with their version of "O Holy Night".

The Hunts recently stopped by the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis last night (June 29th). Opening up for them was San Francisco's Panic Is Perfect, touring in support of their Behind Your Eyelids EP, out now on Strange Loop Music Inc.

Since The Hunts has only release one album, Those Younger Days, they basically played the entire album live.

"Illuminate", "Just For A While", "Remember Us", "Lifting the Sea", "Douse the Flame", "This Is Love": all had great harmonies that can only be produced with siblings who grew up with each other all their lives. Instruments were traditional folk music like mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar, banjo, percussions (even turning a chair into an instrument), but sometime with ukulele (for "Next To Me") or accordion (with a new song 'Life Has Only Begun'?).

Highlight of their show was the closing part of their set, a blockbuster of singles "Make This Leap" and "Ages" (the song where their album title came from), followed by the double song encore of two covers, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues.

With the diehard fans in the audience, including one of their biggest fan all the way from Virginia, the young band is still building an audience simply by word of mouth. When they come back, I'm pretty sure they will be playing to a much bigger audience.
