    This day festival Tour de Fat is taking place over at the Cabooze this Saturday, August 19. The event was previously free at Loring Park, but the paid version will bring in some big acts, including The Record Company, Kolars and Monica LaPlante. NOTE: These type of shows ends about 10pm, so plan accordingly.

    Charlottesville’s Lowland Hum (duo Daniel and Lauren Goans) will be playing the Aster Café in support of their new album Thin. NPR’s Bob Boilen said, “Sincerity, community and beauty is how I think of Lowland Hum; the sounds of Lauren and Daniel Goans.”

  • 08/24-09/04/2017 The great Minnesota State Fair is running from August 24 to Labor Day, September 4th. As usual, they book some paid and free concerts, so look up their website for additional details.
    Band we’re interested in will be free shows: The Pointer Sisters on August 24-25, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic on August 26-27, Hippo Campus on Sep 3-4.
