Hoodie Allen

NYC indie rapper Hoodie Allen got the festivities started with an energetic 40 min. set, playing to a crowd that was clearly his fanbase. Starting with ‘Fame’, a recent collaboration with Chiddy Bang
Belaganas

Although not officially on the venue’s website, we are told that Phoenix’s Belaganas will open the show. The trio (vocalist Shanker, vocalist Joey J, and guitarist/drummer Nick Wille) formed in 2018 when they were teenagers.

Due to safety concerns for his fanbase, Hoodie Allen had to postponed his appearance at the Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis on August 7th.

Ceiling

You see, during Belaganas’ 30-min performance, portions of the ceiling fell into the dance floor. When this happened, the group (Shanker, Joey J, Nick Wille, and guest rapper) stopped their show to ask if everyone was okay. Shanker even joked, “When we said we’d blow the roof off this place, we didn’t mean it literally.”

After getting the okay to continue, the rap group said they would play their upcoming single, “Vacation”… but they didn’t actually play the full song. Instead it was a preview, and they said we can get to hear the full song when it drops soon.

Once their set was done, there was a decision made behind the scene to postpone this show to a later date. This was the right decision, as more of the ceiling could potentially fall and hurt the audience. There was a big “boo!” when they announced the show would not go on.
