Psychedelic-jam-rock-experimental group Circles Around The Sun is currently on tour for their new album Language (Megaforce Records). The group features Adam MacDougall (keyboards & synths), Dan Horne (bass), Mark Levy (drums) and John Lee Shannon (guitar), and will stop by the Turf Club in St Paul on March 15th.

Update: The opening band will be Jenny O. Jenny’s new album Spectra just came out on
Mama Bird Recording Co.

Jenny O (18 Jun 2019)

We’re so excited to have the singer/songwriter back in the city. The last time we saw her, in June 2019, we said, “It’s the first night of the tour, and Jenny O came on stage on time and started her set, playing solo. The last time she was at the 7th Street (with Tristen in October 2017), she had a full band and fondly remembered that the whole band accidentally got stoned and lost track of time. Needless to say, they came on stage super late and apologized to anyone who was at the show.”

Dance rock, psych experimentalist Marco Benevento will stop by the Turf Club in St Paul on March 17th.
The Woodstock, NY-based artist will be joined by his band, featuring bassist Karina Rykman and drummer Chris Corsico.

Opening will be Mike Dillon and his band Punkadelick (billed as Mike Dillon & Punkadelick ft. Brian Haas & Nikki Glaspie to let you know Haas and Glaspie are in the band).

Rickie Lee Jones (with Mike Dillon) (28 Mar 2017)

We actually saw Dillon as the drummer for Rickie Lee Jones’ band in Mar 2017 and wrote, “Both played seventy-minute sets, with Rickie Lee Jones and sidemen Cliff Hines on electric guitar and Mike Dillon on percussion taking the stage at the Ames Center in suburban Burnsville first, spread out among two large rugs on the floor and a grand piano behind them. The appreciative crowd averaged older and was respectful to the music, (thankfully) shushing anyone that started up a conversation during a song.”

Mike Dillon & Punkadelick’ album Inflorescence is out now on Royal Potato Family.
