Incredibly popular local hip-hop pioneers Atmosphere sold out his Friday, November 24th, show at First Avenue, that he’s booked a second show at the Palace Theatre.

Atmosphere’s new Talk Talk EP is out now.

We saw Atmosphere in August 2009 and said, “Atmosphere made their first appearance in Des Moines and they left impressed, to say the least. Atmosphere’s front man, Slug, coined us “his family reunion” and that he’s very proud to call Des Moines his friend.”

Local band The Rockford Mules (featuring bassist Craig Peck, singer and guitarist Erik Tasa-Vocals, guitarist Ryan Rud, and drummer Joel Habedank) is having a vinyl release party for The Last Camaro on Saturday, November 25th.

This is the band’s first new album in over a decade and they are thrilled to play those new songs at this upcoming show.

The Rockford Mules have been around since 2005 and have opened for Lucero, The Violent Femmes, Fu Manchu, Shooter Jennings, and many others.

Details on the new album:

Once described as “devil chasing guitar grinding” music has now evolved into a more refined version of themselves that can only happen from years of the same four guys playing together for 17 years. Their new album, “The Last Camaro”, is a 70’s rock infused ode and celebration to a time when your band was your family. The boys have come home… This is their family reunion.

High on Stress and DJ Assassin9 will open the show. The event is hosted by Nate P of Shore lunch with Nate P.

Celebrated emo/pop punk artist The Maine is on tour in support of their highly anticipated self-titled ninth album. “The Sweet Sixteen Tour” will stop in at First Avenue in Minneapolis on November 28th, 2023.

We previously saw The Maine in Sep 2015 and said, “I’ve seen The Maine many times before. Last time I went to their show, I wrote about how maybe a concert is just an excuse for the feeling of nostalgia. I was back on the hunt last night and got closer to finding that bliss of nostalgia. The show last night was a free show. How cool is that? A free freaking show! My bank account was definitely happy about that.”
