It looks like it’s Sean Anonymous’ birthday show this January 13th. The singer also goes by Sean Na Na, Calvin Krime, or Sean Tillman, but he’s best known for being Har Mar Superstar.

We saw Har Mar Superstar with Peaches in August 2001 and wrote, “I saw this 90% naked man on stage, sweating, crying, thrusting his pelvis in my direction.”

Sean Anonymous will be joined on stage with a Live Band, featuring members of Histronic, Useful Jenkins, More Than Lights.

The event is hosted by Gym Kang with live art by Katie Kroeck.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters

Big Head Todd and the Monsters is returning to the Palace Theatre this January 13th, 2024. The band was previously in town on January 13, 2023… so perhaps they can make this an annual Big Head Todd day.

We saw Big Head Todd at the Palace Theatre in Jan 2018 and said, “Todd Park Mohr and band (Brian Nevin– drums; Rob Squires– bass; Jeremy Lawton– keys / pedal steel) have been a band for thirty-two years now and made their new album, New World Arisin’ (on the band’s own Big Records) “to show we still could” and Big Head Todd and the Monsters still showed their formidable live chops with a two-hour set of the band’s own unique blend of Colorado rock, blues, and soul. In front of a trippingly-illustrated backdrop and amongst simple but effective lighting, the foursome took to the stage beginning with a cut from one of Mohr’s biggest guitar heroes, Jimi Hendrix. BHTM mostly let the music do the talking, eager not only to play songs from the new album, but also to work in as many crowd favorites in, as possible too.”

Local wrestling promotional company F1RST Wrestling will be bringing their Wrestlepalooza to First Avenue on January 13 and January 14, 2024.

So far, we only know that Dillinger Four will play on Saturday, while no listing have been announced for Sunday’s show.

We do enjoy watching wrestling, having just seen Lucha Libre show at Rudos Arena in 14 Oct 2023: “On any given night, this tagteam trios should have been the headlining match… but instead the main event was Blue Panther vs Super Astro Jr. Perhaps it was Blue Panther’s advance age (he’s 63), but they both had a helper wrestler, making it a tagteam match. The two assistants were and Zakk Neo (for team Super Astro Jr) and Apostol 13 (for team Blue Panther). Both Blue Panther and Super Astro Jr are from Mexico, so it was a rare treat to get them this far north in Minnesota.”
