The Wood Brothers
with Mason Via
at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

pvconcerthall.com

The Wood Brothers is currently on tour in support of their forthcoming album Puff Of Smoke (due August 1 via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers). The tour will stop by the newly re-opened Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, on August 16, 2025.

We saw The Wood Brothers in May 2023 and said, “The Wood Brothers opened the evening with “Pilgrim”, the first song from their latest Heart is the Hero. Although Chris and Oliver are indeed brothers, their journey to form their group took a circuitous route. After high school, Chris took his upright bass to study jazz at the New England Conservatory of Music and play with a fusion jazz band Medeski, Martin and Woods. Chris took his electric guitar and headed for the road to form the traveling bar band King Johnson. They have been playing together with Jano Rix on drums since 2004 and their sound consists of folk and blues, but they are not opposed to throwing in a little funk and R&B.”

Mason Via to open. We saw Via in and wrote, “The evening got underway with a well-received 35min. set from Nashville via Appalachia (sort of) newcomer, Mason Via, playing traditional Country / roots bluegrass selections from his two solo albums. We say sort of, because Via was formerly the youngest member of Old Crow Medicine Show and has been in KC previously as part of the huge Folk Alliance International annual conference and gathering.”

at Jack Rabbits

jaxlive.com

New York’s Phoneboy is supposed to play Jack Rabbits, in Jacksonville, on August 18, 2025… but the original list has been removed and all indications is that the show is cancelled.

The band last played July 6th, in Woodstock, New York… which their comment suggests is their last date of the tour:

aaaand that’s a wrap on the summer heartbreak designer tour 🙂

toronto and woodstock thanks for making these last two shows such a blast!!! and to everyone who came out to a show these past few months we love you and we’ll be seeing you again very very soon ❤
