Boston-based indie retro pop/soul seven-piece band Couch will be headlining First Avenue, in Minneapolis, this November 9, 2025. Their debut album Big Talk is due out October 24.

Stephen Day at the Fillmore (September 29, 2025)

Stephen Day to open. We just saw Stephen Day in Sep 2025 and said, “A nice patter from Day showed his comfort and helped keep the audience bouncing along to some very radio friendly sounding numbers. There was a smooth ease to Day’s vocals, even as he did some relatively complicated runs, and I appreciated the artistry in making it seem simple. All This Space got the sing along (of the title words) and Day and the band had the loudest and fastest tempo song of the set, with another funky keys riding underneath. The flashing lights may have been a bit much, but there was a certain pastiche to a certain type of 70’s rock song. Playing the title track to their recent album had Day laughing in delight on the opening guitar intro. Stephen Day ended on Dancing in the Street, with the heaviest guitar song and letting him close strong.”

Japanese legends Boris are celebrating the 20 Year Anniversary of landmark albums Pink and dronevil with special re-issues from Relapse Records, and an upcoming tour. The tour will stop by the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on November 11, 2025.

Boris at the Triple Rock (August 12, 2014)

We saw Boris in Aug 2014 and said, “As expected with the new release of Noise on Sargent House, the Japanese trio set out to play selective tracks from the new album. The new songs went over well with the crowd in front, moshing on the more hard/speedier songs. Before the introduction of “Vomitself”, both Wata and Atsuo thanked us for “this special night”. Atsuo added, in his broken English, “Thank you so much Minneapolis. We had such a good time with you. Few more songs for you tonight.” “Vomitself”, with its extended ending/jam session featured Atsuo banging the gong behind him (the only time the gong was used!) and holding up a noise petal/box while standing above their adoring fans. All the hands were up, and, of course, beckoned Atsuo to stage dive into the sea of people…. making for a very satisfying ending to their show.”
