Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026)
I will confess that I own a Bluray of the first film, Ready or Not (2019). I thought it was a fun film, and the disc was on a Black Friday sale, so I ended up buying it. I never thought the film needed a sequel.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come takes place immediately after the first film ended. If you need a refresher, in the first film, our main character is marrying into this very wealthy family. On their wedding night, the family must play a game, as is their tradition. You soon find out that their game of Hide and Seek is really about the family trying to kill the bride (Samara Weaving – Hugo Weaving’s niece), as sacrifice to Satan.
The rule is simple: The bride has to survive until dawn. It was fun, like I said, it ended and that’s fine. Except, in part two, you find out that the game never ended. Yes, she survived the first night, but there’s a twist in the story: she must survive a second night due to some dumb rule (I can’t really talk about it because it would spoil what happened in the first film).
What I really like about the second film is that they added Kathryn Newton to the cast. I really like her, from what I can remember, I really liked her in that last Ant-Man film too. She plays the Bride’s sister, which was never mentioned in the previous film. They explained it, but it is just stupid.
With the two sisters now being hunted by more Satanic worshipping families, it just seems the filmmakers wanted it to be twice as crazy, twice as fun, and twice as stupid as the first film. They also seemed to have twice the budget, because they hired Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Frodo (Elijah Wood).
I thought the ending of the film worked out nicely, and the story, with all its clues, it made sense how the bride (and her sister) can get out of her situation. I just hope that this is the last Ready or Not film… but you know if the film is successful – just expect a third film. They can always write in a new rule.

They Will Kill You (2026)
When I first saw the trailer to They Will Kill You, I honestly thought it was the sequel to Ready or Not. These films have a similar plot – horrible people made a deal with the devil and so they have to sacrifice people to maintain their power, gifted from the dark lord. When I saw that trailer, I thought it just gave away too much of the plot. It’s best you didn’t know what the film was about, to fully enjoy the switcheroo and reveals.
I’m not going to give away too much – other than that our main character has joined employment to this hotel… only to discover that the entire staff is trying to murder her. If you watched the trailer, there’s a twist – our main character came prepared and she takes down her attackers. A very enjoyable trailer.
Unfortunately, there’s a little too much humor in this film. The humor and flashbacks, with cheesy narrative explaining the plot, is unbearable. The story makes little sense. The big fight at the end of the film is just silly (even though I don’t think that was the intent of the filmmakers).
Soundtrack for this film is hip-hop/rap music, which is fun in a Kill Bill-type, so just know what type of film this is: an action-comedy film – which that supernatural horror.
I think you’ll have a good time if you were walking into the film as a comedy/action popcorn flick. If you wanted horror, think of it like Evil Dead 2 (which is not a scary film but more fun comedy).
They Will Kill You is in theaters now.
