R.I.P. Jeff White (Atrocity)

Thanks to reader G who told us that Atrocity’s drummer Jeff White (not to be confused with alt-country folk singer) has died on 27 Nov 2016. Like you, I was confusing this US-based band with Germany’s Atrocity. Doing a quick check, I can tell you that this Torrington, CT, band started a full three years before the German band with a demo tape in 1985. Subsequently releasing Infected in 1990 and The Art of Death! in 1992. The US band broke up in 1993, but reformed in 2006 and released Let War Rage in 2009 via Mad Lion Records.

Legendary The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr is currently on a book tour for his autobiography Set the Boy Free (Century/Cornerstone). At each of these stop, he will be on stage with a moderator, interviewing Johnny Marr each day. For the The Vista Theater with Skylight Books event, he was in conversation with KCRW's Jason Bentley.
