We just saw Last Breath, a survival thriller film, based on a true story (and is a feature film version of the 2019 Netflix documentary of the same name), and not to be confused with The Last Breath (a 2024 film about treasure hunters), at a preview screening event at the ShowPlace ICON theater in St Louis Park.
We ended up going to see The Monkey, the new film by Oz Perkins, at the Emagine Cinema in Willow Creek, as part of their $5 Tuesday promotion.

You know, with Valentine’s Day coming up on February 14, you would think the movie studios would be releasing romantic comedy films… but this year: it’s a hard no. Instead you’re seeing an action film called Love Hurts, Flight Risk, and Den of Thieves 2… and plenty of horror movies: Heart Eyes (a film about a serial killer on Valentine’s Day), The Monkey (a Stephen King horror story about a cursed monkey toy), Companion, Nosferatu, and Wolf Man… I think it’s cool, as a horror movie fans (after all I love the fact that for the months of October to December, we’re seeing a constant holiday horrors).
We are big fans of the Northern Irish group Ash, formed in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Tim Wheeler, bassist Mark Hamilton and drummer Rick McMurray, before they were legal age! My favorite album of theirs is 1977, the record that spawn such hits as “Kung Fu”, “Girl From Mars”, and “Goldfinger”.
