Shannon Blowtorch is a Twin Cities-based DJ, promoter, sound engineer, and businesswoman. She has been recognized as Best Club DJ multiple times by City Pages and the Star Tribune. Blowtorch is noted for her versatility across music genres and for her work with the hip-hop crew GRRRL PRTY, which featured Lizzo. She has opened for international acts including Madonna and Salt-N-Pepa , and also tours as an independent contractor sound engineer
Except for the lingering Canadian smoke it was a perfect night to be outside to catch The Star Tribune’s Music & Movies at Lake Harriet’s Bandshell. It was definitely a family affair with the movie being Denzel Washington’s Remember the Titans and local favorite Yam Haus playing a 75-minute set before the hazy sun set.
