Lucius

Starting on Thursday is Lucius at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis. TIME dubbed them as “band to watch”, and it’s easy to see once you got a taste of their debut album Wildewoman on Mom+Pop Music… …

Lucius just stopped by the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis as part of their tour in support of their debut album Wildewoman, out now on Mom + Pop Music.

ALPENGLOW

Alpenglow, a band from Vermont, with one band member (fiddler/banjo/jane-of-all-trades Elori Kramer) originally from Minneapolis.
Oddly they had a trumpet player who would show up on certain songs, but I do not think he’s part of the regular band.

The folk band played songs from their debut Solitude, including the lead single “Solitude” and their set closer “Catskills”.

Turnout to the Lucius show was terrific, for a Thursday night. It tells me that the next time the New York band come back around, that they’re going to play a bigger venue, especially if they continue with their catchy 60s girl-group songs.

Led by the two girl singers, Jess Wolfe & Holly Laessig, who dressed alike, look alike, and sings alike. They made it clear that they were extremely grateful to be in Minneapolis for the first time (although one of their guitarists said he has family here and would visit every Summer when he was younger).

As you can see from their setlist, the band played every song known to them. So if you’ve been listening to their EP and album Wildewoman, you will have a fantastic time.

“Goodbye”

Highlight from their set was their encore, as Alpenglow joined Lucius on stage to help sing “Free”. After “Turn It Around” was played, the band went into the dancefloor and sang “Goodbye” in the middle of the crowd.

Lucius is currently on tour, their album Wildewoman is out now. They play Chicago tonight at Lincoln Hall.
