Perfect Pussy

Perfect Pussy are a noise-punk band from New York. They are excited to be confirmed for NPR’s SXSW Showcase on March 12th at Stubb’s in Austin. As expected with many of these bands, they tour around SXSW, so the tour is …

MARCH 30: 7TH STREET ENTRY

Perfect Pussy w/ Condominium + The Miami Dolphins

Across the street at the Mill City Nights is Gary Numan w/ Big Black Delta + Roman Remains. John is covering the late 70s/80s icon… here’s hoping he does his hit “Cars” song.

Zeal
Hot Records

Opening up for Numan will be Big Black Delta and Roman Remains. The latter is basically The Duke Spirit (Liela Moss and Toby Butler), in support of their full-length album, Zeal, out now on Dhani Harrison (George’s son)’s H.O.T Records Ltd.

Hopefully, if it works out, I’ll be at 7th Street to cover Perfect Pussy.
The NY band has been touring relentlessly in support of their acclaimed new album Say Yes To Love, which is out now on Captured Tracks. Lots of buzz for this band, especially from NPR, SPIN, Stereogum, NME, and, of course, Pitchfork.

Opening up for the Perfect P will be Condominium (read about them here) and The Miami Dolphins. I believe both bands are from Minneapolis.

The Sounds

The Sounds are a Swedish rock band, who has often been compared to Blondie and The Cars. The band will be heading to America in support of their latest album Weekend, which came out November 2013 via …

APRIL 1: FINE LINE MUSIC CAFE

The Sounds w/ Blondfire + Strange Talk

There are no bands playing on this date… April Fool!

There are way too many bands in Minneapolis on April 1st. Over at 7th Street is Wakey! Wakey! with Jillette Johnson, RAC and Ghost Beach at Varsity Theater, Bastille at First Avenue, and Dum Dum Girls with Blouse at the Triple Rock Social Club. Too many awesome bands.

The bands I’ll be seeing are The Sounds, with Blondfire and Strange Talk. Originally I said Ghost Beach was one of the opener, but apparently the band decided to head over to support RAC at the Varsity.

Anyway, it should still be good, looking forward hearing The Sounds’ new album Weekend.
