The funkmaster George Clinton is back with his band Parliament Funkadelic at the Cabooze in Minneapolis on May 17th, as part of their 40th Anniversary as a band.

It’s been a long time since Parliament Funkadelic, as noted by Clinton, “It’s been 33 years since a legitimate Funkadelic record, The Electric Spanking of the War Babies, has been out. A lot of it is from the band, but I also have everybody from my kids and grandkids to Sly Stone, Kim Burrell and El DeBarge on there. It’s a package!!!!”

Seattle’s Ivan & Alyosha is back in Minneapolis at the 7th Street Entry on May 18th. The last time I saw this band, I was rather impressed by the turnout.

The quintet is touring in support of their sophomore album It’s All Just Pretend, available now.

Kris Orlowski set to open the show.

Chicago’s Twin Peaks (not to be confused with the television show) is playing the 7th Street Entry on Tuesday, May 19th.

The band is out on tour in support of their latest album Wild Onion, out now on Grand Jury. Expect them to play songs from this album.

Opening up the show will be Chicago’s Modern Vices and Minneapolis’ Stereo Confession.
