Grace Potter

Vermont’s Grace Potter is currently on tour in support of her debut solo album Midnight (Hollywood Records). Although billed as strictly a “Grace Potter” show

GRACE POTTER

at Minnesota Zoo

Sunday, 08/07/16, 7pm ($47)

Monday, 08/08/16, 7pm ($47)

suemclean.com

The last time we saw Grace Potter, she played at the State Theatre in October 2015 and we said that the seated show was just the wrong venue for her. Her fans are interested in dancing, and these seats just felt awkward.

I guess Potter is just exploring her options and she’s back, this time at another seated outdoor amphitheater at the Minnesota Zoo. If you miss her on Sunday, she will appear again on Monday night.

In typical zoo shows, they end before 10:30pm, so it’s not to disturb the animals at the zoo.

Brynn Elliott will open. She was previously was in town in April 2016 with Parachute.

Prinze George

I heard Upswing one morning at Starbucks. I asked the barista the name of the song and artist. She told me Prinze George. I had never heard

PRINZE GEORGE

at 7th Street Entry

Wednesday, 08/10/16, 7:30pm ($10)

first-avenue.com

Maryland’s Prinze George is a trio consisting of instrumentalist Kenny Grimm, singer Naomi Almquist and drummer Isabelle De Leon. The band is touring in support of their debut Illiterate Synth Pop album… and stopping by Minneapolis next Wednesday. Minneapolis is somewhat special to the group, as they’ve started to record the record with Evan Bakke (Prince, Fraea, Soul Asylum) at Sounds Expensive Studio in Minneapolis, during last year’s harsh winter. Of course, it was left unfinished and the band would return a few times, inbetween touring with Albert Hammond Jr., Little Boots, Walk the Moon, etc., to finally finish recording in early 2016.

Lady Midnight is listed as opener.
