Minneapolis indie-pop artist Landon Conrath will close out the year with a headline show at the 7th Street Entry on December 30.  We will be covering the show.

Since making his debut in 2020, Conrath’s distinctive brand of hook-laden indie-pop has seen him become a viral sensation on Spotify and landing on influential playlists virtually overnight. The artist recently shared that his music was streamed over 12.5M times with 2.3M listeners / followers via the official Spotify analytic.

At the moment, they have not announced an opener for the show.

Update: The opening acts have been officially announced.

The biggest news is that it will feature special guest Ber, who we saw in Oct 2022 with Sigrid. We described her appearance as, “Opening the show was Ber. Originally from Minnesota, Ber moved to London in 2020 to work on music. With a massive fanbase on TikTok, she caught the attention of London’s Zane Lowe and Travis Mills, who worked for Beats 1 and BBC Radio One.”

Other guests includes creeping charlie, TYSM! and DJ Qani.

at Turf Club

first-avenue.com

KennyHoopla, aka Kenneth La’Ron, born in Cleveland, Ohio, is famous for buzz-worth singles such as “Waves//”, “Sickness”, and “lost cause//”.

The last we heard from Kenny, he teamed up with Vevo for his home performance of “how will i rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?”. Vevo has a long history of helping emerging artists break through to new and wider audiences… which included helping Billie Eilish and dodie in their early stage of their career.

No opening band listed, but KennyHoopla writes: “Kenny will be live in Minneapolis, MN on 12/30 @ Turf Club. Please bring your old coats as we will be donating to Goodwill together to help families make it through the winter.”

Update: Opening band will be Groupthink.

Charlie Parr
with Greta Ruth
at Turf Club

first-avenue.com

As with previous years, Duluth’s Charlie Parr is doing a month-long residency at the Turf Club in St Paul.

We recently saw Parr with Trampled By Turtles at the Armory in Nov 2022 and wrote, “Charlie Parr opened up with his weathered steel guitar and friend, Mick, playing what Parr called: “The washing machine.” Even with no band Parr had no trouble filling the cavernous space of the Armory with an earthy voice that rose to all three levels and into the rafters of the venue. Born in Austin, MN and now residing in Duluth, Parr’s musical style of folk and blues seems to be from another era. Still, he instantly connected with the sold out crowd with a generous set of 12 songs ranging from a career that has produced 16 albums…”
