September 11-13, 2026, Upcoming concerts / shows (Kansas City, MO / Lawrence KS)

Jefferson Starship Tour Dates

Call it Rock-tember!

Things have gotten busy, with no let-up until after Rocktober. Fall is around the corner (despite the current triple-digit real feel temps), so take advantage before it turns to jacket and sweatshirt season.

And, take good care while out there- concerts and their crowds have taken recent hits:

Ray LaMontagne, one of our folky faves, collapsed from heat dehydration at the Ryman in Nashville, but is said to be ok.

Lionel Richie is said to be back at home and recuperating after falling ill and struggling to breathe live on stage at a recent St. Louis show and checked himself into the ICU following, for ‘cardiac-related issues’. This follows a similar St. Paul MN incident in June.

The Chainsmokers’ recent show in San Jose found fourteen people rushed to the hospital- substances, ahem, may have been involved in at least some of those cases.

Spacehog has had some kind of ‘medical emergency’ affect the band, forcing them off the road and canceling all remaining dates, including an upcoming show with Fastball in Minneapolis- hope all are ok, but maybe in the meantime, we’ll wait and see…

Rosanne Cash, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and eldest daughter of country music legend Johnny Cash, has canceled upcoming shows due to “an unexpected medical emergency,” according to a Sept. 7 Instagram post.

We wish them all the best-

Blue Text Band Music Photo CollageA new music series focused on bringing notable contemporary avant garde, ambient, and improvised music to stages in Lawrence!

Gregory Uhlmann is a guitarist, composer, and producer from Chicago living in Los Angeles. His musical palette embraces beautiful warble-y sounds, low fuzzy vibrations, and rhythms that overlap in surprising ways.

His guitar tones and syncopated picking style are immediately recognizable across a vast array of musical collaborations, and that distinction. while maintaining a shape-shifting flexibility is no small feat. His latest album, Extra Stars, explores that latter territory to a deeper degree than ever before.

The Josh Adams, Shawn E Hansen and Sterling Holman Trio, all with roots in KC, open the evening with an improvised performance with nods to their 2016 “Want Cry Love” album. Hansen and Holman regularly record together as SHSH and Adams works as a touring drummer and percussionist.Sept 13 Squid Pisser
