Jacksonville Comic Book Conventions
It saddens me to say that I’ll be missing out on Twin Cities Con this year (November 7th – 9th, 2025), due to moving down to Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve had such a great time covering the event the last two years. Now that I’ve settled down permanently, let’s take a look at some local conventions in the Jacksonville area. If I am missing any conventions, please email me (vu@weheartmusic.com) the details and I will look it over and update this page.
I’m kind of confused what this event is all about. It seems like it’s a cosplayer and anime-ish type show. With comic book conventions, you can meet your favorite artists or buy comic books… with Enchantment Con is it to just meet other cosplayers?
Their website say you can “Experience the Realms enhanced with a FREE pair of Chromadepth glasses” and “Experience the Realms with enhanced sound! With multi-channel headphones each Realm features its own custom audio experiences.”
Obviously, I have no idea what this convention is about. I wish they would include an explanation page or something for the non-cosplayers.
Billed as the “Northeast Florida’s largest pop culture convention”, Collective Con celebrated their 10-year anniversary earlier this year. They are happy to return to Prime F Osborn III Convention Center in Jacksonville in March 2026.
Prices are about what you would expect with the size of the convention, costing about $30 per ticket, with the option for VIP for Fast Pass cutting in line option.
On their website, they’re already listing early Celebrities: Alan Tudyk, Roger Craig Smith, Matthew Wood, Pattricia Summersett, Kirk Thornton, and Fred Tatasciore. However, based on 2025 cancellations, including Nick Frost and Alan Tudyk, I would say you might want to wait to see solid confirmation.
The celebrities were never the big draw for me at these types of conventions, instead I’m probably more interested in comic book artists and maybe the giant gathering of costumes in one place.
It looks like I just missed First Coast Comic-Con, which just took placed earlier in July with guests such as Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Greg Land, Mike Spicer, Pat Broderick, Alex Saviuk, Jeff Whiting, Joe Doyle, Dominic Pirozzi, Chris Hrdlicka, and John Crowther. What I am reading and what I like what I’m seeing is that they’ve kept the entry cost low ($10), and focused on comic book writers and artists.
The entry fee is going up next year, but it’s because they are moving to a larger venue. Details below.
We can’t keep it a secret any longer, comic fans! First Coast Comic-Con returns July 11, 2026 — and we’re leveling up.
We’re moving to a larger venue, bringing in more vendors, and adding on-site food options to enhance your experience. This is just the beginning, exciting announcements will be rolling out over the next year, so stay tuned!
Thank you all for the incredible support. Let’s make 2026 our biggest year yet!
If it works out, I’ll report back in July at the new venue.
BONUS
As I previously mentioned, I’ll be missing Twin Cities Con this year, but I am hopeful that we can still get some coverage this year for Minneapolis’ biggest comic convention!
Personally speaking, my favorite thing about this convention are all the cosplayers in one location! You get to see some of Minneapolis’ best costumes.
For comic book fans, the top three, for me, is Paul Dini, who’s work on Batman: The Animated Series (along with artist Bruce Timm) introduce the world to Harley Quinn. Phil Hester was at Twin Cities Con last year has a unique artist style to Green Arrow with Kevin Smith as the writer. Ron Marz created Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern) and was a big part of CrossGen Comics (created the popular Sojourn series).
For actors, the biggest celebrities/actors that I’m excited are for Brendan Fraser, the star of the Mummy series from 1999 to 2008, and Rosario Dawson, who recently was in the Netflix’s Marvel Television series… but I knew her from the Frank Miller’s Sin City movies. Giancarlo Esposito, who famously was in Breaking Bad will also be at the convention!
